Seafaring Festivals and Events to Enjoy this Summer

If your dream holiday is spending time not only by the sea, but sailing on it, then there are plenty of places to go in the UK where you can enjoy sailing. The sea is a big part of life in much of Britain, as an island nation, historically there has been a lot of industry and influence built up around seafaring, and courses like this day skipper course are as popular as ever as people learn how to sail.

Over the summer months, there are lots of places where you can attend sailing events, and whether you are new to sailing or have been doing it for years, this is a great way to spend your holiday if you have a passion for sailing. Here are some of the sailing events this summer in the UK…

Cowes Week –  27th July – 7th August 2024 Head over to the beautiful Isle of Wight where one of the largest yachting regattas is held attracting hundreds of competitors taking part in races throughout the week.

Falmouth – 9th – 18th August 2024 A popular destination with sailing enthusiasts looking for a great holiday location, Falmouth is well known for its seafaring history and the picturesque Cornish town fills up with all things aquatic as well as activities on land.

Brixham Heritage 25th – 26th May  2024 – The regatta that is held in the Devonshire town of Brixham, famed for its top class freshly caught seafood as well as the Golden Hind attracts many people to the beautiful English Riviera.
