My Family’s Adventure at Deep Blue Indoor Play

8 min read

As a parent of two energetic young kids, I’m always on the lookout for fun indoor play spaces where my children can burn off some energy, especially during the cold winter months when getting outside isn’t always an option. This past weekend, our family visited Deep Blue Indoor Play for the first time, and it’s safe to say this place made a big splash with all of us!

Arriving at Deep Blue Indoor Play

After a short 15 minute drive from our house, we pulled into the Deep Blue parking lot and I could already feel my kids getting excited. My son was practically bouncing in his booster seat chanting “play place, play place!” as we walked up to the front entrance.

Stepping inside, the first thing that struck me was how massive this indoor play space was. With over 25,000 square feet of play structures, slides, and fun zones, I knew my kids would have plenty of room to expend some energy.

The front desk staff greeted us warmly as we paid our admission fees. I opted for the 3-hour pass since I figured my kids could easily play for that long. We were given wristbands to wear during our visit and provided instructions about the different play areas.

Exploring the Different Play Zones: Deep Blue Indoor Play

After getting our wristbands, we headed right for the main play structure which featured 4 stories of interconnected slides, tunnels, obstacles and net climbs. My daughter made a beeline for the curvy slides while my son went straight for the rope ladders and tube slides. For the next hour I followed them around as they explored every nook and cranny of this massive structure.

When they finally finished investigating the main structure, we ventured over to the gated toddler area which had play equipment better suited for my 2 year old. She loved going down the short slides and crawling through tunnels while my son enjoyed showing her how to use each toy.

After the little one was all slid out, the kids asked if they could try the indoor roller coaster. This was one attraction I’d been particularly curious about so I happily paid the token fee and let them experience the thrills of an indoor coaster. Their smiles and screams of joy told me this was a hit!

We took a snack break to refuel and let the kids recharge before tackling more adventures. My daughter was eager to check out the massive 24 foot tall inflatable slide which towered over one section of the facility. My thrill-seeking son was excited to try out the bumper cars, which he was finally tall enough to drive.

Both kids got their fill of high-energy attractions. When they were all bumpered and slid out, we walked over to explore the arcade section filled with games, skee ball, air hockey and more. My kids had a blast redeeming the prize tickets they earned to pick out bouncy balls, temporary tattoos and other fun novelties.

Favorite Highlights From Our Visit: Deep Blue Indoor Play

Looking back on our 3 hours of indoor playtime, there were definitely some attractions that stood out as favorites among our family:

  • The 4-Story Play Structure: This epic jungle gym really was the heart of Deep Blue. My kids could have easily spent our whole visit on this structure alone!
  • Bumpy Roller Coaster: My thrill-seeker son must have gone down the indoor coaster 10 times in a row! It was the perfect level of excitement for kids his age.
  • 24 Foot Inflatable Slide: My daughter felt on top of the world sliding down this gigantic inflatable over and over again. It gave kids a chance to experience an extra-tall, extra-fast slide.
  • Bumper Cars: These were my six year old’s first time in bumper cars and his big smile said it all. He’s still talking about getting to drive and gently bump other kids’ cars.
  • Arcade Section: What kid doesn’t love redeeming prize tickets for fun knick-knacks?! The arcade area really completed the indoor play experience.

Break Time for Parents

While my kids were off playing, I appreciated that Deep Blue had a nice parents lounge where I could take a break. The seating area gave parents a comfortable place to recharge while still being able to keep an eye on kids playing. There was also free WiFi and a café with coffee, snacks and drinks for sale.

It was nice to grab a cup of coffee, catch up on emails, and give my feet a rest while the kids enjoyed the play facility. The one hour spent in the lounge helped re-energize me for when the kids were ready to play again.

Safety First

Of course, the most important factor for any indoor play space is providing a safe environment for all children. I was impressed by the safety steps Deep Blue takes including:

  • Having families check in at the front desk and get wristbands. This lets staff monitor who is using the facility.
  • Well-trained staff members actively supervising all play zones and attractions. I noticed staff gently enforcing rules when needed to keep kids safe.
  • Padding and protective barriers on equipment and along walkways to prevent injuries. Slides and climbing elements were made to minimize potential falls.
  • Separate gated toddler area with age-appropriate equipment. This keeps little ones away from bigger kids zipping down slides.

Knowing my kids were playing safely allowed me to relax and let them independently explore. Deep Blue struck that perfect balance of freedom and security.

How do you know when parents have found a winner indoor play space for their kids? When no one wants to leave at the end of your visit! After 3 hours of playing, my kids did NOT want to go home.

We literally had to peel them away from their last trip down the coaster and final arcade game. On the way home, they were already asking when we could come back again soon.
