When is the best time to go to Llandudno?

It depends on which of these three options means most for you – Weather, crowds and events.

Spring (March–May): Blooming, air is crisp and so are the prices.

Spring is a sweet spot. The days become slightly more vibrant, the town is far less busy than summer and prices for accommodation are often much cheaper. You will still need layers but perfect for walks on the Great Orme and the promenade with just out of high-season bustle.

Ideal for: walking weekends, cheap breaks and views. For the Best Hotel in Llandudno, consider stgeorgeswales.co.uk

Summer (June–August): Hot, busy streets.

While the warm beach days and outside fun are best enjoyed in summer, that is also when most of the huge groups appear. Anticipate more energy, longer lines and higher costs (especially on school holidays). Plan on being there earlier in the day as popular places get busy. If you are coming anytime close to summer, book early.

Great for: traditional seaside breaks, families and lots of evening entertainment.

Autumn (September–October): Quieter, and typically warm.

The start of autumn is like a more understated version of summer. The sea air remains agreeable, groups scatter, and you effectively can get increasingly good accessibility. Great for couples or anyone wanting a slower pace.

Great for: lazy weekends, taking photos and leisurely walks.

Winter (November–February): Cheapest, but not much warmth to be had.

The cheapest and most available accommodation time is during the winter, but it will also be wetter and more windy in general. It is apt for comfortable cafes, stormy sea views and a tranquil reset If you do not mind wrapping up.

Quick tip

Late April–May and then September are the best bets for weather, crowds and price.
