Your boiler is an incredibly important appliance in your home. Without it you would be left without hot water to wash and bathe in and no heating to keep you warm in the colder autumn and winter months. • No heating – this can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you are in the winter months and want to warm your home. There are a number of ways that this can occur and that includes hot water being provided but no heating, or no heating or hot water. In both of these instances it would indicate that there is something wrong with your boiler. This could be related to the pressure in your heating system dropping too low, an issue with your thermostat or timer as well as a problem with the motorised valves in your heating system.
• Strange noises – all boilers make some degree of noise and this is usually noticed more when the system is firing up for use. There are some instances when the noises could be a good indication of a bigger problem with your heating system. Depending on what type of noise is coming from your boiler there could be a number of issues that you need to get looked at by a professional gas engineer.
• Leaks – if you notice water leaking from any part of your boiler or large amounts of condensation building up this should be something that you get looked at. This is usually the result of one of the internal parts of your heating system being broken or a valve that is no longer working as it should do, or the pressure in your system may be too high. Another sign that there is water leaking from your boiler is the appearance of corrosion.
